Description and schedule of services

Saturday the 9th of October. Private 4,5h flamenco and tapas tour of the quarter of Triana

6:30pm: meet your personal local host at your accommodation to start your private flamenco and tapas tour of the quarter of Triana. This tour focuses on two of the most representative living traditions, one artistic and one gastronomical, of Southern Spain and it’s ideal for the curious travelers willing to experience both from a local perspective.
The tour starts with a short walking tour from your accommodation to the quarter of Triana, through which you’ll learn how flamenco emerged in South West Spain as a result of a slow fusion of the ancient multicultural musical heritage of Southern Spain with the original gypsy rhythms and musical roots. This will set the context for (and enhance the appreciation and enjoyment of) the selected flamenco performance in a small and intimate venue that will follow, with 4 people onstage: a guitar player, a singer and two dancers.

After the performance, you will be taken on a tapas tour of Triana by your local host. You will visit two or three selected bars where the locals like to gather with friends and family and where you will taste a selection of 6 – 9 tapas dishes to share that you’ll be able to pair with the corresponding wines. This will give you an understanding of what to go for tapas means in this area of Seville, of how it is enjoyed, shared and celebrated. Then you’ll be escorted back to your accommodation stopping along the way for a sweet local indulgence.

11pm: arrival to your accommodation and end of the tour.

Sunday the 10th of October. Private 3,5 walking tour of Seville most important World Heritage Sites and of the quarter of Santa Cruz:

1:30pm: be met your personal local host at your accommodation to take a private walking tour of Seville’s most important World Heritage Sites: the Alcazar and the Cathedral and of the iconic quarter of Santa Cruz. You will start your discovery journey visiting the Alcazar which is a massive complex of palaces erected in different periods and of breath-taking gardens of different styles. The Alcazar has stunning historical constructions featuring a very particular crossover between Hispanic-Muslim and Christian architecture styles, called Mudejar. This style became very fashionable in Seville in the 14th and 15th centuries amongst the Christian nobility and it reached its maximum splendour in Seville. Another essential part of the Alcazar is the famous house of Trade, which once hosted the offices from where all the commerce with the new world was managed. After enjoying these inner areas, you will be taken to the gardens which are an exquisite sample of European gardening from the 16th until the 20th centuries.

Then you will be taken to visit the Cathedral, which is the largest gothic temple in the World and where Christopher Columbus is buried. The Cathedral of Seville was erected on a vast extension of land where previously a Mosque had been erected. An important part of the Mosque was preserved and it is now a part of the Cathedral. This makes it a unique construction featuring styles as diverse as Hispanic-Muslim, Gothic, Renaissance, Neoclassical and Baroque. Finally, you will explore the Jewish quarter (Santa Cruz) with its narrow streets, houses of traditional architecture, countless quaint corners and cozy squares.
This tour will allow you to discover the fascinating history of Seville through its most impressive buildings and its most iconic quarter.
