The Alcazar of Seville is a vast complex of stunning palaces and beautiful gardens, where you will see the most beautiful architectural evidences of the coexistence of the Christian and Hispanic-Muslim cultures in Southern Spain.
In the Alcazar you will also understand how Seville got the monopoly of all trade with America from 1503 until 1717. Our private tour of the Alcazar will take you to visit the premises where all this commercial activity was planned, managed and regulated from.
The Archive of the Indies has also been a Seville UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, together with the Cathedral and the Alcazar.
This iconic neoclassical building treasures invaluable documents from all those commercial expeditions that took place between Seville and the New World.
Navigation charts, the first maps of America, crew lists, tax documents and expedition diaries are amongst these extraordinary records.
