9am: meet your personal local host at your hotel to start a private walking tour of Jerez old town aimed at learning about the Hispanic-Muslim origins of the city and about the transformations that it experienced (architecture, urban planning, social composition and overall character) after the Christian conquest in the 13th century and later in the 18th and 19th centuries when the local wines (sherries) became probably the most fashionable drinks in the world.
This walk will take you first to discover the areas inside the city walls to later show you the first quarters that emerged outside them along with the first bourgeois settlements and industrial (wine-making) areas.
Along your tour you will also learn how Jerez became one of the most prosperous in Europe thanks to its wine-making industry and the implications that this had in the local flamenco music, which enjoys a great reputation all over the world.
Finally, you will understand how the sherry industry started to collapse and how Jerez became the slow-paced city it is today yet keeping the pride and splendour of the past..

Cancellation policy
– If you cancel your tour between 7 and 5 days prior to scheduled departure, we will charge 50% of the full cost of the tour and we will refund the other 50%.
– If you cancel your tour between 4 and 3 days prior to scheduled departure, we will charge 75% of the full cost of the tour and we will refund the other 25%.
– If you cancel your tour 2 days or less prior to scheduled departure, we will charge 100% of the full cost of the tour.
