Description and schedule of services

4th of June: arrival to Bilbao airport and transfer to your hotel
–
5:20pm: upon arrival of your flight to Bilbao airport (Vueling VY3933 from Palma de Mallorca), walk to the arrivals hall and meet your personal driver there. He will be holding a sign saying “David and Mina – Genuine Andalusia”. Then be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle to your hotel in Bilbao.
6:20pm (estimated): arrival to your hotel in Bilbao and rest of the day at leisure.

5th of June: day trip to Rioja to visit a winery, the town of la Guardia and the village of Ábalos

11:30am: meet your personal host at your accommodation and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle with a dedicated driver to La Rioja wine region.
Along the way you will see how the landscape drastically changes as Spain’s most iconic wine country gradually unfolds.
12:45pm: upon arrival to Rioja, it will be time to enjoy the beauty, charm and history of its most iconic medieval town: La Guardia, which was founded in the 10th century as a defensive bastion of the Kingdom of Navarre.
The defensive walls of La Guardia are still preserved and its medieval layout remains almost intact with splendid Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical buildings. Your tour of La Guardia will allow you to learn about its medieval prosperity and how wine has shaped the history and culture of the town throughout the centuries.
1:45pm: after your tour of La Guardia, you will be taken to visit a selected winery, so you can learn about the iconic wines from Rioja.
2pm: upon arrival to the winery, you will enjoy a private visit followed of course by the corresponding tastings. This will give you a great overview of the ecosystem of vineyards, regions and villages that Rioja features and where there’s room for both tradition and modernity.
Your Rioja wines discovery journey will not only offer you a fantastic immersion into the local wines but also into the story of the people, the traditions of the region and its endless vineyard landscape.
3:30pm: after your visit to the winery and to top up your stay in Rioja you will be taken to the medieval village of Ábalos.
3:45pm: upon arrival to Ábalos, you will enjoy a guided walk of the village along which you will enjoy its surprising legacy featuring a good collection of majestic noble houses and an impressive temple.
4:15pm: after your visit to Ábalos and with an understanding of a new region in Northern Spain acquired through its food, wine, architecture, people, agriculture and traditions, you will be driven back to your accommodation in Bilbao.
6pm: arrival to your hotel in Bilbao and end of services for the day.

6th of June: from Bilbao to San Sebastian via the Nature reserve of Urdaibai, Guernika and / or Lekeitio

3pm: meet your personal driver at your accommodation and be transferred to San Sebastian taking stops along the way at the Nature reserve of Urdaibai and the towns of Guernica or Lekeitio.
Urdaibai is a 22,000-hectare nature reserve with abundant bird life, coastal towns, beaches and cliffs, which treasures some of the most beautiful coastal landscapes that the Basque country has to offer. Along your drive you may want to stop at selected towns / viewpoints and / or maybe at the start of some walks to enjoy some sections of them.
Then, Guernica and Lekeitio are iconic Basque towns (one inland and the other on the coast) which are representative of the history, architecture and charm of the Basque country and where you may want to stop to take in a bit of their character.
You will be able to negotiate the stops and their duration with your driver as you go.
7pm (at the latest): arrival to your hotel in San Sebastian and end of services for the day.

7th of June: day trip from San Sebastian to the town of Getaria, to visit a Txakoli winery and the coastal landscapes of Zumaia

11am: meet your personal driver at your accommodation and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle to the town of Getaria, taking a stop along the way at the coastal town of Zarautz to visit its most picturesque viewpoints of the Cantabrian Coast.
11:50am: upon arrival to Getaria, enjoy some time at leisure to visit its medieval streets and port.
12:50pm: reconnect with your driver and be transferred to a selected Txakoli house near Getaria.
1pm: upon arrival to the Txakoli house, enjoy a private guided tour of both the vineyards and the aging facilities. Along the tour you will learn about the making process of this particular Basque white wine, where vineyards grow right close to the Ocean in extreme humidity conditions, and about its history to later enjoy a tasting of different wines paired with some light late afternoon bites.
2:30pm: after your visit to the Txakoli house, you will be driven to the coastal village of Zumaia.
2:45pm: upon arrival to Zumaia, you will be taken to the start of a walk way that will allow you to enjoy its Flysch landscapes, where you will be able to “read” 50 million years of history from a privileged perspective over the Basque Coast.
4pm: reconnect with your driver and be transferred back to your hotel in San Sebastian.
4:30pm: arrival to your hotel in San Sebastian and end of services for the day.

8th of June: day trip from San Sebastian to Biarritz, Saint Jean de Luz and Hondarribia

11am: meet your personal driver at your accommodation and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle to the French Basque Country city of Biarritz to later visit Saint Jean de Luz and Hondarribia. You can negotiate the stops and their duration directly with your driver.
When the European Royal families searched for a holiday destination they often chose Biarritz. Iconic buildings such as the Hotel du Palais, the lighthouse and the bridge by Eiffel will give you a hint of why this was and is such a hot and refined spot. Also Biarritz boasts some of the best beaches for surfing and this also infuses the city with a vibrant outdoorsy atmosphere.
Saint Jean de Luz is a small fishing village that was loved by pirates and corsairs alike. Its cobbled streets are filled with quaint houses and charming gourmet shops of cheese, foie, sausages and other French Basque Country delicacies, making it the perfect place to buy some foodie souvenirs.
Hondarribia is the smallest of the three towns but it has a very picturesque medieval old town with its defensive walls and gates, inside which you will find picturesque squares and majestic temples.
7pm: arrival to San Sebastian and end of services for the day.

Confirmation and payments
In order to confirm this bespoke trip at this price we require a 20% deposit of the grand total via credit/debit card no later than the 9th of February 2024 at 11:59pm (Madrid time). The final 80% must be paid via the same method no later than 30 days prior to the start of the trip.

Cancellation policy
– If you cancel your trip more than 30 days prior to its scheduled start we will charge the 20% deposit only.
– If you cancel your trip between 30 and 15 days prior to its scheduled start we will charge 40% of the full cost of the trip and we will refund the remaining 60%.
– If you cancel your trip between 14 and 4 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 60% of the full cost of the trip and we will refund the remaining 40%
– If you cancel your trip 3 days or less prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 100% of the full cost of the trip.
