Description and schedule of services
–
4th of July: Seville Alcazar, Cathedral and Plaza de España in the morning and flamenco and tapas tour preceded by a boat ride in the Guadalquivir river in the evening
–
10am: be met by your personal local host at your hotel to take a private walking tour of Seville’s World Heritage Sites: the Alcazar and the Cathedral and of the iconic Plaza de España. You will start your discovery journey visiting the Alcazar which is a massive complex of palaces erected in different periods and of breath-taking gardens of different styles. The Alcazar has stunning historical constructions featuring a very particular crossover between Hispanic-Muslim and Christian architecture styles, called Mudejar. This style became very fashionable in Seville in the 14th and 15th centuries amongst the Christian nobility and it reached its maximum splendor in Seville. Another essential part of the Alcazar is the famous house of Trade, which once hosted the offices from where all the commerce with the new world was managed. After enjoying these inner areas, you will be taken to the gardens which are an exquisite sample of European gardening from the 16th until the 20th centuries.
Then you will be taken to visit the Cathedral, which is the largest gothic temple in the World and where Christopher Columbus is buried. The Cathedral of Seville was erected on a vast extension of land where previously a Mosque had been erected. An important part of the Mosque was preserved and it is now a part of the Cathedral. This makes it a unique construction featuring styles as diverse as Hispanic-Muslim, Gothic, Renaissance, Neoclassical and Baroque.
Then, to top up your tour you will be taken to visit Plaza de España, which is an iconic construction from the 1920s designed and erected for the Iberian – American exhibition that took place in the city in 1929. During your tour of Plaza de España, you will learn about the significance and symbolism of the site and about what it represents for the local population and for the rest of the Spanish people.
2pm: end of your tour back at your hotel and free time until your evening adventures.
5:45pm: meet your personal local host at your hotel to go on a flamenco and tapas tour of the city preceded by a private boat ride on the Guadalquivir river. This tour starts with a short walk from your hotel to the banks of the Guadalquivir river.
Once at the river banks, you will board a private electric boat with a comfortable outdoor seating area to enjoy a 60 minute guided ride that will allow you to enjoy beautiful views of Seville’s river fronts, while you are explained with a drink how flamenco emerged from South West Spain as a result of a slow fusion of the ancient multicultural musical heritage of Southern Spain with the original gypsy rhythms and musical roots. This will set the context for (and enhance your enjoyment and appreciation of) the selected flamenco performance that will follow the ride (7:30pm), with 4 people onstage: a guitar player, a singer and two dancers.
After the performance (8:30pm), you will be taken on a tapas tour through Seville old town by your local host. You will visit two or three selected bars where the locals like to gather with friends and family and where you will taste a selection of 6 – 9 tapas dishes to share that you’ll be able to pair with the corresponding wines. This will give you an understanding of what going for tapas means in Seville and how it is enjoyed, shared and celebrated. Then you’ll be escorted back to your hotel stopping along the way for a sweet local treat.
11pm: arrival to your hotel and end of services for the day.

5th of July: private day trip from Seville to Granada and the Alhambra
–
9am: meet your personal driver at your accommodation in Seville and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle to the Alhambra in Granada.
11:45am: upon arrival to the Alhambra, your driver will leave you in the hands of your personal local guide. Once with your guide, be taken on a private walking tour of this palatial city which is the most exquisite example of the Hispanic-Muslim architecture.
The Alhambra was the city where the Hispanic-Muslim sultans used to live with their army, their court and some selected artisans. Because of this, it has several parts, all of which you will get to visit during your tour while you understand the role that each of them had. Later you will visit the summer palace or Generalife. This is the place where the sultans would go to escape from the hustle and bustle of the Alhambra. It was a place designed for relaxation and contemplation and because of this, it has the most beautiful gardens and some of the nicest views that the city of Granada has to offer.
3:15pm: end of your tour of the Alhambra and free time in the city of Granada for lunch at leisure and to explore the city at your own pace before returning to Seville (we will give you recommendations).
5:30pm: reconnect with your driver and be transferred back to your hotel in Seville.
8:15pm: arrival to your hotel in Seville and end of services for the day.
