11th of May 2025: introductory food and wine tour through Lisbon old town quarters

5:30pm: meet your personal foodie host at your hotel to start a culinary journey that will intertwine history and delectable flavors as you explore the charming streets of two of Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods.

This tour will allow you to immerse yourselves in the rich tapestry of Portuguese cuisine, where each bite tells a story of tradition, innovation, and passion. Unearth the secrets of centuries-old recipes as you delve into 4 – 5 hidden eateries and local gems. You will visit traditional stores, taste pastries and “petiscos” where the locals eat, and end your tour with a toast with a glass of “ginjinha” (sour cherry liqueur) at century-old taverns.

Your personal local host, a true foodie at heart, will regale you with tales of Lisbon’s culinary heritage and historical snippets that will amuse you and teach you a bit of why things are how they are.

12th of May 2025: day trip to the natural park of Arrabida from Lisbon

9am: meet your personal local host at your hotel and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes minivan to the natural park of Arrabida, just 45 minutes south of Lisbon. Along the way, you will cross the iconic Ponte 25 de Abril over the Tagus river.

9:45am: upon entering the natural park, you will start a scenic drive along which your guide will tell you about the particularities of this protected reserve. Then stop at the cliffs of Meco beach for excellent views of the coastline of Western Portugal. Then continue onward onward to the next cliffs at Cabo Espichel for more panoramic and impressive views of Portugal’s Atlantic shores. Here you may want to walk a little to explore in-depth the spectacular surrounding landscape.

11:45am: after taking in the beauty of the cliffiest section of the natural park, change scenarios by visiting the beach town of Sesimbra, located in the middle of a bay and protected by green hills. There you may want to explore its old town centre and maybe do some shopping before having lunch in one of the local restaurants.

2:30pm: after your exploration journey of Sesimbra and lunch, continue on to now explore the Southern Coastline of the natural park, this time from the water! You will start a private kayaking and snorkeling guided tour from the charming fishing harbor of Portinho da Arrábida with a nature expert, that will take you to the Luiz Saldanha marine reserve. There you will enjoy not only the gorgeous views of the coastline from a privileged perspective but also the underwater flora and fauna of the reserve.

4:30pm: after your kayaking and snorkeling adventure, be transferred back to your hotel in Lisbon.

5:30pm: arrival to your accommodation back in Lisbon and end of the tour.

13th of May 2025: day trip from Lisbon to Sintra, Sintra Natural park and Guincho Beach

9am: meet your personal local host at your accommodation and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle with a dedicated driver to the town of Sintra.

9:45am: upon arrival to Sintra, enjoy a discovery tour of the town. Sintra was the summer residence of the Portuguese monarchs and previously of the Arab princes too. The city is located in a lush and mountainous region north of Lisbon and it features a series of palaces of remarkable beauty and impressive gardens erected in different periods. Your day trip to Sintra will take you to explore a good selection of them from the outside. Then you will be taken to visit the quaint streets of the old town, where you will enjoy a walk amongst charming old houses, some of which have been converted into small stores and bakeries, selling local products, regional pastries, and handicrafts. There you may want to do some shopping before enjoying a local lunch. Your guide will adapt to your lunch preferences and will suggest a lunch place suited to those.

Then after lunch, you will be driven to Sintra Natural park, where you may want to enjoy a short, easy and scenic walk with panoramic views, before discovering one of the most iconic beaches in Portugal (Guincho beach). From there, reconnect with your driver and be transferred back to the port of Lisbon.

3pm: end of your tour at the port of Lisbon on time for you to take your cruise.

14th of May 2025: day in Porto. Explore the city with a focus on views, food and visit a selected port Winery too

9am: meet your personal local host at the cruise port in Porto and be transferred to Porto old town in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle with a dedicated driver. Along the way, be explained about life in Porto while you drive along the coast first and up the river Douro later until reaching the heart of Porto.

9:30am: upon arrival to Porto, enjoy a panoramic tour of the city aimed at enjoying its most picturesque viewpoints and old town corners. This will allow you to learn about the origins of the city and about its once thriving wine industry, of which there’s still living evidence.

10am: finish your tour at a selected port winery and enjoy a private tour through which you will learn about the making and aging of this iconic Portuguese wine before doing the corresponding tastings and learning also about how it is now being used for very interesting cocktails too.

11:30am: after your tour of the winery, start a gastronomy adventure through Porto old town, this time on foot. Along your journey you will experience both the traditional cuisine, which is having a revival in the city at the moment, and also some of the modern trends that are giving a slight modern twist to Portuguese cuisine. Your guide will also throw in some comments about the history and architecture of the city, while you learn how the city’s past is shaping its future.

Small family owned and family run bars, restaurants and cafes will be the places where your gastronomy and wine discovery will take place and where you will sample an ample selection of regional foods and drinks, together with your local host.

3:30pm: after your gastronomy adventure, reconnect with your driver and be transferred back to the cruise terminal.

15th of May 2025: day trip from A Coruña to the dramatic and impressive “Costa da Morte” (coast of death) for a short, light and scenic coastal walk there and to visit the picturesque towns of Muxia and Muros. Lunch stop halfway along the tour to try to Galician gastronomy

9am: meet your personal local host at the cruise terminal of A Coruña and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle to the stretch of Atlantic Coastline known as Costa da Morte. This is a stunning area in NorthWest Spain with impeccable white sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, green pastures, fishing villages and majestic lighthouses.

10:15am: upon arrival to Costa da Morte, you will be taken to visit the village of Muxia. This will make a perfect introduction to the architecture, geography and coastal charm of the area. During your stay in Muxia you will be taken to see the Sanctuary of a Virxe da Barca from where you will be able to contemplate panoramic views of the village and of the surrounding coastline.

From Muxia, you will take a scenic route towards the village of Finisterre to enjoy the beautiful coastal landscapes in this area and to also learn about the history of an extended route of the pilgrimage to Santiago that finishes 3km South of the village. Once near the km0 marker, you will walk to the majestic lighthouse of Finisterre (Finis – terrae: the end of the Earth!)

After your introduction to the beautiful nature of this unique coastal area, you will be taken to enjoy its wonderful gastronomy in a selected local restaurant.

Then after lunch, you will continue your coastal route towards the village of Muros, where you will take a stroll to enjoy its main square, promenade and traditional Galician architecture before returning back to your accommodation.

3:45pm: transfer back from Muros back to the cruise terminal in A Coruña.

5pm: arrival the cruise terminal in A Coruña and end of services for the day.

16th of May 2025: day trip from Bilbao to chic San Sebastian visiting a txakoli (Basque wine) winery along the way and the picturesque town of Getaria. Then in San Sebastian, food tour through the old town based on local pintxos. After lunch a tour of San Sebastian city

9am: meet your personal local host at the cruise port in Bilbao and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle to the Basque coastal town of Getaria. Along the way, your guide will offer you an overview of the culture, lifestyle, landscapes and overall character of the Basque country.

10am: upon arrival to Getaria, enjoy a tour of the picturesque medieval old town quarters and of the fishing port. This will allow you to also enjoy some very pretty views of the rugged Basque coast, while you learn about the history of whaling in the Basque country and about their intrepid sailors.

10:45am: after your introductory tour to the sea culture of the Basque country, venture inland a little to visit a selected winery of local Basque white wine (Txakoli).

11am: upon arrival to the winery, enjoy a private visit aimed at learning about the making and enjoyment of this iconic Basque wine, also understanding a bit about its history.

12:20pm: after your visit to the winery, be transferred to the chic and elegant city of San Sebastian.

1pm: upon arrival to San Sebastian, enjoy a pintxos lunch through different bars of the old town with your local host. Along this part of the tour you will learn what makes the gastronomy from San Sebastian so unique and why San Sebastian is known for being a premium gastronomy capital. in San Sebastian pintxos are small and elaborate gourmet bites that concentrate the soul of the city in their elegant and honest presentation and you will taste a variety of them with a selection of Basque wines too, some of them from the Basque Rioja.

3pm: after your pintxos tour, start a private tour of the San Sebastian, again with the services of your driver, that will take you first to Mount Igueldo for excellent panoramic views of the bay of La Concha.

After this you will be taken to discover, while you visit the first quarters that developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, why San Sebastian became a glamorous Summer destination for aristocrats and well to do families then.

4:30pm: after your discovery journey of San Sebastian, be transferred to the cruise terminal in Bilbao.

5:45pm: arrival to the cruise terminal in Bilbao and end of services for the day.

Confirmation and payments
In order to confirm these tours we require a 30% deposit of the grand total no later than the 20th of September 2024. The final 70% must be paid no later than 30 days prior to the start of the first tour.

Cancellation policy
– If you cancel a tour more than 15 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 30% of the full cost of the tour and we will refund the remaining 70%.
– If you cancel a tour between 15 and 10 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 50% of the full cost of the tour and we will refund the other 50%.
– If you cancel a tour between 9 and 4 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 75% of the full cost of the tour and we will refund the other 25%.
– If you cancel a tour 3 days or less prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 100% of the full cost of the tour.
