Seville to Cordoba | day trip
The city of Cordoba is only 140km (one way) away from Seville. Therefore a Seville to Cordoba day trip is an easy, convenient and very enjoyable plan for travelers staying in Seville who want to discover Cordoba in one day.
Seville and Cordoba are very well connected by both road and railway. This allows us to offer our guests two options for a private day trip to Cordoba from Seville:
• Day trip from Seville to Cordoba with a private driver
Having a personal driver with a modern and comfortable vehicle is the most convenient way to organize a Cordoba tour from Seville. The drive from Seville to Cordoba is 1,5h one way and although this is twice as long as the train ride, this option with chauffeured transportation is the one that we always recommend to our guests.
These are the reasons:
1.- Having a private driver lifts the burden of the time and taxis / walks needed to get from your hotel in Seville to Seville train station, from Cordoba train station to Cordoba old town and back in both cases.
2.- It also eliminates the need to get to the corresponding stations in advance in order to locate your platform, go through security and get on the train.
3.- Your personal driver will pick you up from your hotel and will drop you off right in Cordoba old town upon arrival and vice-versa to return to Seville.
4.- It adds total total time flexibility as opposed to having to plan your Seville to Cordoba day trip according to train schedules.
Because of all this we believe it makes the best day trip to Cordoba from Seville.

• Seville to Cordoba day trip by train
The high-speed train ride from Seville to Cordoba takes only 45 minutes (one way). This makes a private day trip from Seville to Cordoba by train a doable option indeed.
However, while this seems a very easy and fast way to get from Seville to Cordoba, we believe it is important to highlight that neither Seville nor Cordoba have their train stations in their old town sections.
Seville train station is 2,1km away from the old town (Cathedral area). This is approximately a 26min walk or a 15min taxi ride. Then Cordoba train station is 1,8km away from the old town (Great Mosque area). This is approximately a 23min walk or a 15min taxi ride.
Given these circumstances you will need to allow enough time (and manage taxis unless you don’t mind walking) to get from your hotel in Seville old town to Seville train station, from Cordoba train station to Cordoba old town and back in both cases. Besides, it will be essential to get to each station in advance to locate your platform, go through security and get on your train. Also the timing of this day trip is subject to the train schedules.
All in all if you are train ride lovers, we recommend a Seville to Cordoba day trip by train as the experience of traveling on the Spanish high-speed trains, which reach speeds of up to 300km/h, can be very exciting!

What you will get to see, do and learn with our Cordoba day tour from Seville
Regardless of your transportation service of choice, our day trip from Seville to Cordoba includes a private walking tour of Cordoba old town upon your arrival to the city. A knowledgeable, personable, kind, flexible and interactive guide from our team will be waiting for you in town to share the fascinating history, architecture and main landmarks of Cordoba with you and your travel party during approximately 3h.
Along this tour you will learn about the Roman origins of the city and how it became one of the most prosperous cities in the world in the Middle Ages.
It was then when Cordoba was inhabited by Jews, Muslims and Christians. This coexistence of the three great Mediterranean cultures turned the city into a unique intellectual hub that gave birth to some of the most renowned thinkers of that time. This explosion of knowledge and intellectual development also resulted in the construction of exceptional buildings of remarkable historic significance.
The tour will take you to explore and learn about the three that we consider the most representative of the splendor of that period. These are the Great Mosque – Cathedral, the synagogue and the Chapel of Saint Bartholomew.
After your guided tour you will be able to enjoy the fantastic gastronomy and wines of Cordoba at your own leisure (we will give you recommendations of places to eat and drink in the city).
