Description and schedule of services
25th of April: arrival to Lisbon cruise terminal and introductory full-day tour of Lisbon and Belém finishing at your hotel

9am: meet your personal local host and a dedicated driver with a modern and comfortable Mercedes minivan at Lisbon cruise terminal to go on an exploration journey of the city that will allow you to understand, learn about and take in the beauty of the different sections of its old town and of the quarter of Belém, only a few kilometers outside the city.
Lisbon is a big metropolis with many different iconic quarters. It spreads out along the Tagus riverfront and up and down its seven hills.
In order to get a fair perspective of the city and to understand its past and present you’ll explore with your local expert the quarters of Alfama (dating from the 5th century), Chiado, Bairro Alto, Baixa (the heart of the city), the plaça do Comércio area (once a thriving trading hub) and also the district of Belém which is a few kilometers outside the heart of Lisbon and that has a fascinating history linked to the greatest Portuguese discoveries.
Along the way you’ll visit essential landmarks both in Lisbon and Belém such as the tower of Belém (outside) and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. Also, Halfway along the tour, your personal local host will take you for lunch to a selected local restaurant so you can enjoy Portuguese gastronomy and wines together, learning at the same time how much of the national Culture is present in both.
Lisbon also offers some very impressive views over the Tagus river from selected viewpoints, which are also ideal to enjoy panoramic views of the city. Your guide will take you to the most significant ones for the locals.
5pm: end of your tour at your hotel and rest of the day at leisure.

26th of April: day trip from Lisbon to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril

9:30am: meet your personal local host at your accommodation and get on a modern and comfortable Mercedes minivan with a dedicated driver to explore the palatial city of Sintra and the coastal towns of Cascais and Estoril.
Sintra was the summer residence of the Portuguese monarchs and previously of the Arab princes too. The city is located in a lush and mountainous region north of Lisbon and it features a series of palaces of remarkable beauty erected in different periods. Your day trip to Sintra will take you to explore a selection of them from the outside and to visit the interiors of the oldest royal palace in Portugal, which features an impressive collection of ceramic tiles of Hipanic-Muslim origin.
Then you will be taken to explore the quaint streets of the old town, where you will enjoy a well deserved lunch. Your guide will adapt to your lunch preferences and will suggest a lunch place suited to those.
Then after lunch, you will be taken to enjoy the fishing town of Cascais, where you will be taken on a guided walk of the old quarters.
Finally, from Cascais and maybe after a coffee along its promenade, you will be transferred to Estoril, which has been the preferred exile destination of many aristocrats and monarchs throughout history due to its gentle weather and spectacular coastal location.
During your tour of Cascais, you will be taken to see its most remarkable royal and aristocratic residences while you learn about the history that led to the construction of all them.
5:30pm: end of the tour back at your hotel in Lisbon.

27th of April: day trip from Lisbon to the Alentejo region with special focus on its UNESCO World Heritage Site capital: Evora

9am: meet your personal driver at your accommodation in Lisbon and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes minivan to Evora. Along the way, you will drive on the iconic 25th of April bridge, which crosses the Tagus estuary at its narrowest point. Then, as you leave Lisbon behind you will see how the rural landscape of the Alentejo region unfolds before your eyes.
10:30am: upon arrival to Evora, your private driver will leave you in the hands of your personal local host to start a private walking tour of the old town.
Evora is the capital of the Alentejo region and it was granted UNESCO World Heritage recognition in 1986. The city features an extremely well preserved legacy from different historical periods including Roman constructions, medieval streets, grand palaces and majestic monasteries and churches.
The Alentejo region is also famous for its agriculture and farming and because of this, Evora (its capital) is also an ideal place to taste the regional cuisine and wines.
Along your guided tour you will learn about the important settlement that Evora was in Roman times while you visit a temple dedicated to goddess Diana as well as the old Roman walls. Then you will travel forward in time to the 16th century when Evora became the second most important city of the kingdom of Portugal.
During this part of the tour you will be taken to see some selected landmarks from this period such as the San Francisco Church, the palace of don Manuel, the Giraldo Square and the Palace of the Inquisition.
1:30pm: after your history and architecture tour of the city your guide will recommend a place for lunch suited to your taste so you can enjoy lunch at leisure, maybe following the recommendations you will be given.
After lunch, you will have some free time to maybe explore the town a little bit further on your own and/or maybe have a coffee.
3:30pm: reconnect with your driver at a previously agreed meeting point and be transferred back to your hotel in Lisbon.
5pm: arrival to Lisbon and end of services for the day.

8:15am: meet your personal driver at your hotel and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes minivan to Lisbon airport.
8:50am: arrival to Lisbon airport on time to take your flight to Philadelphia at 11:05am and end of services.

Price of this bespoke tour program for a private group of 2 people: 2575 Euros

This price excludes
– Lunch during your day trips. Your personal local host will escort you to a selected local restaurant on the 25th and on the 26th and will accompany you for lunch but the cost of your lunch is not included. On the 27th of April, lunch is at leisure and on your own but your personal local host will escort you to a restaurant suited to your taste.

Confirmation and payments
In order to confirm this bespoke program of private tours we require a 30% deposit of the grand total no later than the 1st of April 2023 via credit/debit card. The final 70% must be paid via the same method no later than 10 days prior to the start of the tour program.

30% deposit needed no later than the 1st of April to confirm the tour program: 772,5 Euros.

Final 70% needed no later than 10 days prior to the start of the tour program: 1802,5 Euros.

Cancellation policy
– If you cancel your tour program more than 10 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge the 30% deposit only.
– If you cancel your tour program between 10 and 7 days prior to its scheduled start, we willl charge 50% of the full cost of the tour program and we will refund the other 50%.
– If you cancel your tour program between 6 and 3 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 70% of the full cost of the tour program and we will refund the other 30%.
– If you cancel your tour program 2 days or less prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 100% of the full cost of the tour program.
(*) Please note that partial cancellations won’t result in partial refunds. This applies to the group size and to the duration / activities of the tour program.
