Description and schedule of services

8:30am: meet your personal local host at Cadiz port and be transferred in a modern and comfortable Mercedes vehicle with a dedicated driver to Jerez old town. Explanations along the way about the geography, history, landscape, economy and character of Southernmost continental Spain.

9:15am: arrival to Jerez and private walking tour of the old town with a special focus on its Hispanic-Muslim origins and on the transformations that it experienced (architecture, urban-planning, social composition and overall character) with the Christian conquest in the 13th century and later in the 18th and 19th centuries when the local wines (sherries) became probably the most fashionable drinks in the world.
Your tour will also include a private visit to the local market in order to understand not only the essential proximity service it is for the local community but also the important role it plays in the social fabric of the city.

11am: end of your introductory walking tour in a selected sherry bodega and private visit aimed at learning about the aging process of the different types of sherry. This will be followed by the corresponding tastings and by some basic notions about the art of pairing food and sherry.

12:30pm: end of the visit to the sherry bodega and short walk to a selected sherry and tapas tavern.

12:40pm: arrival to the sherry and tapas tavern and tapas and sherries lunch there. Further notions about the art of pairing food and sherry will be given through a pairing lunch including a selection of 5 – 8 dishes to share and up to 4 sherries per person.

2:10pm: end of lunch and private transfer from Jerez to the whitewashed clifftop town of Arcos de la Frontera.

2:40pm: arrival to Arcos de la Frontera and private walking tour of the old town with a special focus on its Hispanic – Muslim urban planning and traditional constructions, on its Christian monumental buildings, on its traditions and on its breath-taking viewpoints. Understanding of what life on the frontier between the Christian Kingdom of Castilla and the Muslim Kingdom of Granada was like in the 14th and 15th centuries. Tasting of some local delicacies along the tour.

4pm: end of your tour of Arcos de la Frontera and private transfer back to Cadiz port.

4:45pm: arrival to Cadiz port and end of services for the day.

Confirmation and payments
In order to confirm this private tour we require a 20% deposit of the grand total no later than the 22nd of July 2023 via credit/debit card. The final 80% must be paid no later than 15 days prior to the start of the tour via the same method.

Cancellation policy
– If you cancel the tour more than 15 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge the 20% deposit only.
– If you cancel the tour between 15 days and 8 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 40% of the full cost of the tour and we will refund the other 60%.
– If you cancel the tour between 7 days and 5 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 60% of the full cost of the tour and we will refund the other 40%.
– If you cancel the tour between 4 days and 3 days prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 80% of the full cost of the tour and we will refund the other 20%.
– If you cancel the tour 2 days or less prior to its scheduled start, we will charge 100% of the full cost of the tour.
